Apologies for the hedging headline there – I’ve seen his latest collection of words on a page being referred to as a “memoir” but I’m not sure if I understood that correctly given how many of the achievements he’s laid claim to have been robustly called into question by investigative journalists around the world in the last few weeks.
In fact so many of his impressive claims have been plausibly challenged now that multiple online biographies of the man have been swiftly edited to remove almost all the specificity of those claims.
I’m definitely not calling Professor Jason Arday a lying liar who lies. However, I can’t control what conclusions you – being, presumably, an intelligent human being with a functioning brain and a sense of ethics and good morals – might draw from reading articles like the ones linked below, because that’s entirely your perception.

A variety of sources there, some of which I find distasteful generally but there’s no denying the reporting is extensive and interesting.
And those yellow highlights are particularly fascinating – visit the first link and scroll down for a graphical depiction of how much of Jason Arday’s submitted prose apparently matches the work of other human beings word for word. I’m not drawing conclusions, I’m just drawing attention to the comparison.
I was also interested to read about the experiences Arday claimed he had with a knife-wielding intruder at his workplace, and with a pigs head delivered to his family. Incidents like that are abhorrent, but neither of these particular incidents seem to have been reported to the police according to independent investigations, and to the police departments that would normally have been involved had they been reported, and neither does any supporting evidence appear to exist, or so I’m reading on the links above. If these incidents really happened I hope the perpetrators are brought to justice.
Anyway. He’s got a book out this week. Still not clear if it’s meant to be a factual and truthful account, or maybe something more satirical and tongue-in-cheek. I do wonder if huge chunks will appear on certain websites in yellow highlighter before the month is out.
Either way, good for him for riding out the persistent, relentless investigation of his claims, none of which seem to be finding much in the way of supporting evidence but you never know, maybe full vindication is just around the corner. Or maybe he’ll just change the details again. Or claim that he’d have been the first man on the moon if he hadn’t had a cold that week.
But I’m sure he worked very hard to produce this book all by himself. I’m not buying it though.
